Months of research and a year of use. Canon PowerShot S95 Digital Camera is the best camera i've ever owned. I took back and S90 to buy this after already ruling out the alternatives people here have already mentioned. It is very portable and small meaning you will take it everywhere. This means, you'll use it more and take more photos.
It's point and shoot size but it's no point and shoot camera. It takes SLR quality photos. The lens is incredible. The only downside, is if you plan to put it in auto and just shoot, not every photos is going to be perfect. You need to learn how to adjust setting based on your environment and the subject. Having said that, auto is still pretty incredible. If you want to maximise on this cameras potential, spend some time learning how to use it. You will never regret it, especially at this price. I paid almost $500 for it when it first came out.
