Ich vermute, dass einige auch wie ich dieses Subnotebook kaufen wollen in Hinblick darauf, Linux zu installieren. Leute, die damit nichts anfangen können oder wollen brauchen ab hier nicht weiterlesen - jene sind mit Erkenntnissen aus den anderen Rezensionen besser bedient.

Nun ein paar Erfahrungen aus subjektiver Ecke:



Allem voran - als 'MacbookAir Competitor' mit Windows 7 versagt das Samsung Series 9 beinahe haarsträubend ohne Anpassungen. Viele schlechte Bewertungen im Netz rühren her aus Gründen, die Microsofts Betriebssytem betreffen. Also davon nicht abschrecken lassen.



Ein fünftel der ohnehin kleineren SSD geht drauf für eine versteckte Backuppartition. Wer nicht in der Lage ist, sein System anderweitig und korrekt zu sichern, entscheidet sich hier ohnehin für das falsche Gerät (und überhaupt. Backup eines Geräts auf dem Gerät selber? Ach, Microsoft...). Das OEM Windows 7 ist nach erstmaligen Einrichtung aufgebläht auf >30GB. Dazu zählt auch Schlangenöl-Software wie beispielsweise ein Norton Antivirus, welches sich regelmäßig mit einem Popup meldet, da es ja Lizenzkeys verkaufen möchte.

Das hat nichts auf einem Luxus-Modell zu suchen.

Nach langem Abwägen kam ich dann auf das Samsung 900X3a. Es ist wirklich richtig gut. Es startet schnell. Ich habe es meist den ganzen Tag an, aber es läuft einfach nicht heiß. Die Lüftung ist überaus leise. Es hat bei mir ohne Netzanschluss bereits 7 Stunden am Stück durchgehalten. Zum Wlan: Selbst im Zug habe ich keine Probleme mit dem wlan. Deshalb kann ich die hier beschriebenen Schwierigkeiten nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Die Helligkeit des Bildschirms ist für mich absolut ausreichend, aber das ist Geschmackssache.

Etwas schlecht kontruiert ist das mitgelieferte Netzteil. Bloß nicht aufwickeln, dann bricht das Kabel.

Die Kundenbetreuung bei Samsung lässt zu wünschen übrig, da man das Netzteil einschicken und 1 Woche warten soll, bis man einen Ersatz erhält. Dazu müsste ich mir dann Urlaub nehmen...

EDIT: Wenn man in den Energieoptionen das WLAN auf Höchstleistung stellt (statt auf maximal Strom sparend), dann funktioniert es etwas besser. Man muss vorher lediglich das Samsung Fast Start deaktivieren.

Das Gerät ist entsprechend seiner Ausstattung schnell, hinzu kommt dass es leise ist und optisch ansprechend gestaltet.

Ich habe bisher nur Arbeitsprogramme und ein wenig Bildbearbeitung laufen lassen, nichts, was once den Prozessor auch nur annähernd auslasten könnte.

Dabei war die Wärmeentwicklung mäßig.

Für erfahrene User ist die werksseitige Vorinstallation ein weinig nervig, weil man nicht ständig daran erinnert werden will, dass Norton einen überall beschützt und dass das Internet ganz schön gefährlich ist. Eine Menge zusätzliche Klicks werden da nötig, doch da hilft die Deintstallation. Für Anfänger mag das Ganze ganz sinnvoll sein.

Die Verabeitung ist intestine, nur das Display ist für meinen Geschmack auf der Rückseite ein wenig zu elastisch. Das Gerät ist schön flach, die Tastatur ist für mein Empfinden sehr gut. Die Darstellung des Displays insbesondere bei Videos ist großartig.

Das Hochglanzoptik einhergeht mit der Anschaffung eines Staublappens ist selbstverständlich.

Optisch ansprechend, jedoch sind keine Schalter vorhanden, d.h. WLan, Lautstärke etc nur per Fn-Tastenkombination. Tastatur very well, Druckpunkt könnte besser sein. Gott sei Dank ist die vorinstallierte Software mit Maß aufgespielt und auch sinnvoll (DVD-Player, Backup-Lösung and many others.)

Nachdem die kleinen Kritikpunkte ein Tribut an den sehr günstigen Preis sind, empfehle ich das Gerät guten Gewissens weiter.
